Dr. Elaine Tobias

Dr Elaine Tobias MS, VMD, DACVIM, DACVP

Dr Tobias is a double-boarded specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine and Clinical Pathology. She is part of Antech Clinical Pathology Team and will be reading samples for AVD from September onwards.

Elaine graduated from University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 1991, followed by a rotating internship there.

She completed a residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine in 1995 at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. She practiced as an emergency veterinarian, as well as an internist with a special interest in oncology for several years and was boarded in small animal internal medicine in 1998.

She then spent a total of 18 years at Idexx, first as an internal medicine consultant, and then as a clinical pathologist, interspersed with a year teaching at an Australian University. During that time, she was able to pursue her strong interest in clinical pathology via a non-traditional residency, and earned ACVP board certification in 2011. In 2020 she joined the Antech clinical pathology team. She lives in Olive Branch, Mississippi, USA, with her husband, and multiple large and small animals.
