Dr. Mona Bera

Dr. Monali Bera, DVM, MS, Dipl ACVP (Anatomic Pathology)

Dr. Bera received her DVM degree from Michigan State University and her BS degree in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience from the University of California San Diego in 2001. After completing a three-year residency programme in anatomic pathology at Colorado State University, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences whilst obtaining her MS degree, Dr. Bera completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Boston. In 2011, she obtained her board certification with the American College of Veterinary Pathologists and moved to Singapore in 2013, after accepting a position with Philip Morris International.

Following 2 years of work in research and development, Dr. Mona decided to change her focus to diagnostic pathology and worked at IDEXX in Australia for about one year before joining Asia Veterinary Diagnostics in May 2017 to oversee AVD’s newly formed satellite lab in Singapore and to serve as AVD’s onsite Veterinary Pathologist.

Since then Dr. Bera has worked closely with Veterinarians and clinics all around Singapore as well as in Hong Kong and Malaysia.  She is passionate about her work and she shares AVD’s vision to provide a high standard of service, support, and diagnostic testing to Veterinary clinics all across Asia and in reaching the goal of becoming Asia’s Veterinary Reference laboratory.  In 2021, Dr. Bera will now be serving as AVD’s Head of Pathology and Veterinary Support and will continue being the primary liaison for Veterinarians all across Asia in providing a direct link between the patient and the diagnostic laboratory.
